Good quality dinner set. I have the grey which looks smart and washes well in the dishwasher.
But I have marked it down because the dimensions, especially of the large plates, differ from the set I already owned. I don’t know why this should be, but I wanted a matching set, and I just don’t have one. Such a shame…

I love this dinner service so much that I bought another one. It’s of excellent quality at a very good price. I’ve never had a full dinner service before but now I have. It’s not a problem that it’s not dishwasher safe because I’ll use the green style for special occasions only. I did then buy two sets of the grey for everyday use. The grey washes perfectly in the dishwasher btw. So out with my sad old chipped plates and in with the affordable Hampton set.

Lovely bone china – not easy to find anymore
Could have done with some serve ware but this set didn’t have any serving plates or bowls

We bought 2 sets (8 place settings) of the grey stripe version in October 2024 and were delighted with it so bought some extra plates a few months later. We wanted good quality bone china to replace some ageing crockery and the grey version is labelled ‘Dishwasher safe’. Very disappointed to notice after some 14 months of use that the glaze had started to ‘rainbow bloom’ on each item. Usage became intolerable as cutlery and certain foods, particularly toast, made a horrid screeching noise that set your teeth on edge and made you shudder as you moved the item on the plate or bowl. The crockery had usually been washed in the properly maintained dishwasher with good quality proprietary dishwasher tabs and rinse-aid.

The dinner service is just what we were looking for despite the broken side plate, but this was replaced without any delay or fuss
